New
to You Resale Shop |
The
New To You Shop is in its 23rd year. Clothes of good quality, books,
knick-knacks and other items can be
purchased at a reasonable price. In 2002, total sales for the year
were almost $134,000. Many people in the parish enjoy volunteering
at the shop either in the morning or afternoon. The proceeds from the
Shop go directly to various outreach programs and to the parish budget. |

Completely
staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers, the Open
Hands Food Pantry at St. John’s served 8,777
people in 2002. Of these, 39.4% were children under
18 years of age and 11.25 % were under five. Open
Hands not only provides food to those in need, but
also toothpaste, shampoo, detergent, soap and toilet
paper, things they can’t get with food stamps. |
